Description
Bottle green is one of those rare shades that seems to suit every skin tone without exception, and this saree makes the most of that quiet universality. Small gold and cream bindi tree motifs repeat across the body in careful, disciplined rows, giving the fabric a structured, almost architectural rhythm before the border even enters the picture. And the border earns its place, a wide silver gold brocade panel dense enough to anchor the whole drape, finished with tassels along the pallu edge. This is a saree for the function where you want to look composed rather than dramatic, a work related wedding, a formal family dinner, an event where restraint reads as more confident than embellishment. The green deepens beautifully under warm lighting and stays crisp in daylight, which makes it one of the more versatile pieces in this collection when it comes to venue and time of day. Every tassel here has been finished entirely by hand by our artisans, arriving complete rather than half done.
The Craft
This saree is handwoven in pure katan silk by artisan weaving families in Benaras, with the small bindi tree motifs worked into the body through a repeated, disciplined loom setup that keeps the rows perfectly aligned across the full length of fabric. The wide silver gold brocade border requires considerably more zari thread per metre than the body’s simpler repeat, giving the pallu real weight and formality. Producing a saree with this level of consistent, aligned detail is a slow process that rewards precision at every stage. Every tassel is finished entirely by hand by our artisans before the saree ever leaves our hands.
