The Craft
The medallion print on this saree comes from traditional Bagh block printing, using hand carved wooden blocks and an organic, vegetable dye process rooted in Madhya Pradesh’s textile history. Each motif is pressed individually, and the slight variation from one impression to the next is a mark of genuine handwork rather than a flaw to be corrected. The pallu’s geometric border is woven with the same attention, combining teal, rust, and gold tones without any synthetic colourant. Woven from banana silk, a plant derived and biodegradable fibre, the fabric stays light no matter how dense the print above it.
