A dusty mauve pink base is scattered with soft white polka dots and slim leaf motifs, while the pallu opens into a denser lotus and floral panel bordered in a deeper rose tone. The Craft
The polka dot and leaf motifs on this saree are created through Bagh block printing, using an organic, vegetable dye process to achieve the dusty rose and mauve tones without any synthetic colourant. Each dot and leaf is pressed by hand, one block impression at a time, which is why the repeat has a slightly irregular, clearly handmade quality. The denser floral border on the pallu required additional block work to achieve its detail. Woven from banana silk, a plant derived and biodegradable fibre, the saree arrives with a complimentary cotton saree cover to help protect the colour between wears.
